ENTERTAINMENT COMMITTEE

First Night Tri-Cities would not be possible without the hard work and efforts of the Entertainment Committee. Working under the First Night Board of Directors, the group is responsible for all things related to Entertainment, including contracting with local, regional and national talent, scheduling, promotion and more. The group also handles everything related to the production of the event including sound and lighting systems, staging, electrical, performer backline, venue spaces, decorations and logistics.

The Committee works 11 months a year planning for the 10 hours of festivities that take place on December 31st. It begins with a recap meeting in January of the event that took place three weeks prior and notes on how to improve for the following year. The group takes February off, then begins meeting in March to plan the annual fundraiser talent show and discuss national talent. Regional and national talent are secured generally by June. The talent show takes place in July. Local talent is reviewed in September and contracts are issued in October. Meetings with CBC, and our sound, lighting and electrical contractor occur in November along with scheduling. December is spent implementing everything we planned throughout the year and meeting with performers and of course the event takes place on New Year's Eve.

Combined, the Entertainment Committee has over 40 years experience planning and executing First Night events. The committee is a dedicated group of individuals with a passion for the event and each is proud of the entertainment package we produce for the community each year.
